WILDLIFE ADVENTURES
SEASON - October to June
CLOSEST INT'L AIRPORT - New Delhi / Bombay
Once in the jungles of India, surrounded by bird calls and eerie silences, you will see why this was the setting for Rudyard Kiplings JUNGLE BOOK. He wasn't the first to be inspired by the natural habitat and wild-life of India. From the legendary hunter turned conservationist, Jim Corbett (immortalized when Corbett Tiger Park was named after him) to the hero of non-violence, Mahatama Gandhi, India's wildlife continues to influence those who enter it's jungles.
Unlike the flat Savannah’s of Africa, wildlife in India has to be searched for…..patiently and often on the sturdy back of a 5 ton Indian Elephant. Ravines, hills, dense rainforest and enormous elephant grass will engulf you as you scout for the birds and animals. These spectacular backdrops, the shrill sound of a wild birds alarm call or the crackle of hooves disappearing in the undergrowth are all part of the daily game watching experience. With a bit of luck and lots of patience you might even have the privilege of coming face to face with the king of cats…..the Tiger…or sit in silence as you stare at a herd of wild elephants.
With almost 350 mammal species, 1200 bird species and at least 30,000 insect species that make these jungles their home….you just don’t know who or what you will run into in the Jungles of India….
