Century old palaces and forts are scattered throughout this desert kingdom and the countryside abound with the rich culture of the Rajput marital clan, who have ruled the region for over a thousand years. The culture notwithstan ding, Rajasthan offers a variety of wildlife for the nature lover. The traveler can feast their eyes on birds such as the Siberian crane, the desert owl and partridge. You will just as easily spot herds of gazelle, black buck and the unique Indian blue bull. Those with a little time and patience can even search for the Tiger and Panther that make Ranthambore their home.
